Tokyo Ever After
Princess diaries inspired but unique all on its own too! Gave me early 2000s rom com vibes and absolutely loved it-I loved the characters, the romance subplot, the exploration of identity, and the inclusion of newspaper clippings to move the plot!
I was giggling, blushing, and crying throughout the novel!!
The only sort of negatives for me were that sometimes the writing could be stilted with the short, choppy sentences. I also didn’t always love the pop culture references especially when marvel was brought up; I always find pop culture references cringy because it ages the book and quickly will be irrelevant rather than relatable.
Overall though I was so immersed and giddy over the story that the writing style didn’t bother me enough to take away stars!
